I don't know why but I'm feeling a little guilty about the way I handled a recent call from a telemarketer.
Before they could even finish the first sentence, I asked them for a billing address. When they asked "Why?" I told them simply, but slightly rudely, "I'd be happy to talk with you, but I'm a telemarketer effectiveness consultant and I charge for my evaluation of your performance."
They hung up.
