I'm Not Going to Tell on You Mahoney

Early this morning, I had a battle with insomnia. ( just kidding, I won't do that this time. ) But seriously, I woke up at 3:44 am and never fell back asleep.

I listened to the meditation kunstnere on my spillelister ( can't get ipod off German setting. Because it's in German ) but it doesn't seem to do the trick anymore.

So I started thinking about the past, and this boy I knew in elementary school. His name was Charlie Mahoney, and he was really awesome, to say the least. He was the tallest, cutest and funniest boy in the class.

Mahoney and his pals would always pester me on the playground, but I was never sure why exactly. Maybe it was because of that one time I beat him at horse, or it could be he thought I was an easy target. Perhaps, he just secretly liked me. Who knows.?

I remember in sixth grade when Charlie sat in the desk behind me. He was constantly poking my back and pulling on my hair. Now, if it were any other boy in the class, they would have got a whole lot of sass from me. Because it was Charlie, I would still roll my eyes and act annoyed, but I actually kind of liked it and looked forward to his taunts.

I often wonder, what answer would I have gotten back from Charlie Mahoney if I just had the courage to pass him the "Do you like me?" "Check YES or NO" note when I had the chance. I might have ended up a Mahoney.
